ANECT joint the international project
One of the most important activities of ANECT in the field of innovation is the involvement in MASTER - the international research and development project co-funded by the European Commission under the 7th Framework Programme of the European Union. The project is aligned to the strategic objective 1.4. Secure, dependable and trusted infrastructures defined by the European Commission in the FP7 ICT Work Programme 2007-2008.
MASTER project focuses on security of information systems. The aim of the project is to provide methodologies and infrastructures that facilitate the monitoring, enforcement, and audit of quantifiable indicators on the security of a business process, and that provide manageable assurance of the security levels, trust levels and regulatory compliance of highly dynamic service-oriented architecture in centralized, distributed (multidomain), and outsourcing contexts. Methodologies set up within MASTER are projected in various prototypes. After verification in testbed of two cases studies - healthcare sector represented by Italian Hospital San Raffaelle and finance sector represented by Spanish insurance company CESCE, MASTER outcomes will result in a draft of European standards in the area of information security.
The key outcomes of MASTER are:
• PLA methodology (Protection Level Agreement = analogy to SLA)
• Diagnostic prototype for management of information system security
• SOA extension of security components
• Identified and developed security infrastructure
• Two real examples in two real environments (heath care and financial services)
• Innovation = transformation of business requirements into IT services
• Automatization of detection and reaction to rules infringement
• Enabled visibility and auditability of objectives, indicators and compliance
