The acquisition of iCom Vision has exceeded expectations
The results of iCom Vision, in which ANECT took a majority stake exactly a year ago, have exceeded expectations. The leading Czech developer of mobile applications and provider of mobile services achieved a profit for the first twelve months of cooperation whilst the budget anticipated a small loss. The company's turnover was similarly successful.
„Even when initially considering the purchase of a majority stake in iCom Vision we could see its great potential; the results for the first twelve months have pleased me. The obtaining of a significant number of large projects contributed to the excellent results", said Miroslav Řihák, Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of ANECT, which since last year has held an 83 per cent stake in iCom Vision.
Among the largest customers of iCom Vision are, for example, the mobile reservation system for the International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary, thanks to which visitors to the festival can reserve and purchase tickets by SMS and WAP. For the operator of the Centrum.cz portal the company has implemented a project providing for complete mobile access to the services of the catalogue of firms, e-mail, chat and the news server Aktualne.cz.
In the coming period the company wants to concentrate particularly on projects in the area of the administration and outsourcing of mobile services, the development of business-to-business (B2B) projects and software development. It also plans to engage more in the area of „body shopping", or the „renting" of its own specialists to companies during the implementation of projects.
