How to approach radio company networks

The conference Company Mobility 2008 was held on Wednesday 19th March at the CITY Conference Centre. The main theme of the conference was the use of modern technology in company and information systems. Michal Rapco, senior project manager for communication systems at ANECT, addressed the conference on the subject of radio networks according to the standard IEEE 802.11.

„Reasons for implementing company data mobility are very similar to the reasons that led to the introduction of mobile phone communications," stated Michal Rapco who added that the use of radio data networks as a means of company mobility differs from standard cable networks primarily in terms of their specific radio and connection layer.

According to Rapco, in order to function effectively the final form of a radio network should fulfill a range of conditions with respect to the correct selection of the number of access points with regards to coverage and data flow, focus on a smaller number of access points with lower performance of stabilization networks, consideration of modular equipment and their suitability, correct antenna orientation etc.

„If a business does not respect aspects that influence the performance of radio networks then it may be that the company mobility does not function correctly and the outlaid investment may seem an unnecessary waste," Michal Rapco told the conference.

98 people attended the conference, with the majority of them being regular readers of the magazine Professional Computing. Along with Michal Rapco the conference was addressed by, for example, Filip Neuhäuser from Siemens, Martin Šmrha from Atlantis Datacom, Jan Jiřička from Avaya and Adam Žídek from AutoCont.
